A Serving Congregation - by Ron Bekkering

As we close out the month of June; I am so amazed at the number of servants that have shown up and put love in action.

Whether it was the 23 we took to Kentucky to bless the people of Mt. Carmel School with plumbing, roofing, painting, and flooring to just cover a few areas.  The fact that those that went served in areas they really didn't know that well, but still smiled and completed the task is truly being the hands and feet of Jesus.

Then to arrive back in DeWitt and participate in one of the highlights of the Redeemer Church calendar, Vacation Bible School, was again amazing.  It was so great to see so many different servants serving joyfully with smiles on their faces in and spring in their step.  It carried me, being pretty tired from the week before, and allowed me to have all that energy that was flowing through the halls of Redeemer.

I think Peter said it best in his first letter; 1 Peter 4:10-11 (ESV)

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace:  whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Thanks for all you do to make Redeemer in DeWitt, Michigan a serving congregation....May we never stop connecting people with the love and life of Jesus in all we do!!!

Let's see what July brings!!!! :)
